2000 dollars per month for everyone over 16

Did I dream that Congressman Tim Ryan and Ro Kahanna reintroduced the Covid 19 bill they produced in 2020. In any event, it's worth reviewing the half-baked plan first proposed in 2020.

In case you missed it, they wanted to give everyone over the age of 16     $ 2,000 per month until un-employment returned to pre covid numbers.

Congressman Bill Johnson, in an address at The Columbiana County Lincoln Day dinner said 12,000 jobs are currently un-filled in the Tri Country. How about a bill to get people off their backside.

Think for one minute, you're 16 and a junior in high school. The Federal Government gives you $ 2000 a month no strings. Hell, you would be in beer booze and weed every day. A part time job, that would be for suckers.

Before I get to the cost of this bill proposed by Ryan and Kahanna, how about the reckless abandon shown for our country's currency. We are on the verge of losing the stature of the reserve currency. Every dollar printed makes the dollars you have saved worth less every year. If their end game is to wreck the dollar, they are off to a good start. Saudi Arabia is considering taking oil payments in the Chinese Yuwan. Why not the dollar is diluted.

Check these inconvenient facts:

In the U. S. there are 258 million souls over 18.

16 and over add a few more Million, but why pile on?

The Ryan proposal is $ 2000 a month for those over 16.

You are eligible if you make under $ 130 K per year.

Only 12 per cent of Americans make over $ 130 K per year.

That leaves 227 million who would get the $ 2000 per month.

227 million times $ 24,000 per year is $ 5.4 Trillion per year.

It's embarrassing that our Congressman Tim Ryan would add his name to such an assault on the American dollar. Roll that over in your mind, $ 5.4 Trillion borrowed and added to the National Debt. At first, I thought it was just a bad joke. Now, I guess it's a serious proposal?
