After losing his friend Robbie Eckert to suicide last October,Nick Ryan and Eckert’s family started Robbie's Hope.They wanted to create a safe space for teens to talk about mental health and suicide prevention and now the group has created a handbook to help adults understand how to navigate talking to their teens about mental health.
Robbie’s Hope has groups in Colorado and North Dakota and these teens developed the handbook, which is filled with suggestions for parents to initiate conversations with their kids about mental health without making them feel cornered or like they can’t open up. They hope to make a difference by making these difficult conversations easier with the guide.
