When none of his son Kade’s friends showed up to his 11th birthday party,Jason Foster took to Twitter to try to get people to show the kid some birthday love.
He posted a photo of Kade wearing his favorite hockey team, the Toronto Maple Leafs, shirt and support started pouring in from celebs like Ben Stiller, Mark Hamill,and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
But the Maple Leafs also got in on the fun. The team flew the birthday boy and his family from their home in Newfoundland, Canada to Toronto for their game against the Philadelphia Flyers.
Kade also got some special perks including meeting the entire team in their locker room and having Leafs mascot Carlton the Bear wheel out a Maple Leafs-themed cake while fans at the Scotiabank Arena sang him “Happy Birthday.” Even though his team lost 3-2, the day was a big win for him.
