The Indians had a late start on the west coast. Starting the game for the tribe was All Star game MVP Shane Bieber as he continues to have an excellent season he came into the game with a record of 13-7 with and ERA of 3.24. For the Angels Patrick Sandoval who on the year has a 0-2 record with an ERA of 4.91.
The Indians got started in the first inning when Yasiel Puig would have an RBI single that would score Francisco Lindor making the score 1-0 in favor of the Indians. Bieber would have an excellent first inning as he give up only one hit. He would strike out one and fly out two. Keeping the score 1-0.
The second inning the Indians would continue to score runs. The inning started with a Franmil Reyes walk. The next Tribe batter, Jason Kipnis would take advantage of Reyes being on first when he would hit a 416 foot home run extending the lead to 3-0 Indians.
In the bottom of the inning Shane Bieber would see what makes Albert Pujols one of the best to ever do it as he would hit a deep 440 foot home run. Giving the Angels the only run of the inning. Making the score 3-1 with the Indians still holding on to the lead. The game would remain a pitching duel between Shane Bieber and the Angels Bullpen. The Angels bull pen would continue to keep pace with Beiber until the top of the sixth inning when Yu Chang would hit his first professional home run. Chang's first home run would be a 3 run home run giving the Indians a 6-1 lead over the Angels in the 6th.
Shane Bieber would continue to pitch and pitch well. Bieber would be done after the 7th inning. Into pitch was Carlos Carrasco. Carrasco would continue to get his feet underneath him. Carrasco would give up one Home run to the first batter he faced but would quickly recover. Carrasco did not give up another run in the inning keeping the score 6-2. Indians pitcher Tyler Clippard would come into the game in the 9th and no give up a run. The Tribe would win 6-2. Don't forget to listen to game on WTAM 1100 AM or 106.9 FM
