CLEVELAND, OH -- In the eighth inning of a 5-2 game, Carlos Carrasco was called upon with runners on the corners and two outs, before forcing Jay Bruce into a groundout to end the inning. Tribe manager Terry Francona decided to leave Carrasco in the game for the ninth, and Carrasco came through for the skipper, retiring the Phillies in order to earn his second career save, and his first MLB save in 5 years in a 5-2 Indians victory.

Tribe starter Shane Bieber looked nearly untouchable as he cruised through the Philadelphia lineup, as he was perfect through three innings. Bieber threw 7 complete innings, giving up 2 earned runs on 7 hits, striking out 7 batters. Bieber became the 6th player in the Cleveland Indians franchise to throw 250 strikeouts. The reigning All-Star Game MVP walked off the mound to a standing ovation at Progressive Field, as Bieber earned his 15th win, moving to 15-7 on the year.

Mercado got the Indians on the board early in the first inning with an RBI double to left field to score Francisco Lindor from first base. Mercado came back in the clutch in the 7th inning with a 2-out RBI single to left field, driving in his 46th RBI of the season. Yasiel Puig and Carlos Santana each chipped in an RBI in a winning effort.

The Cleveland Indians move to 91-63 on the season after Friday night's 5-2 victory over the Philadelphia Phillies. Saturday evenings matchup between the tribe and Phillies will pit Indians rookie Zach Plesac against Phillies left hander Jason Vargas. First pitch is set for 7:10 pm ET at Progressive Field in Cleveland, Ohio on Saturday night. Miss the game? No worries, check out highlights from the game below!
