WASHINGTON, D.C. -- The Washington Nationals, who have clinched the National League Wildcard Game, are playing the spoiler this weekend as the visiting Cleveland Indians need every win they can get in order to reach the playoffs. Cleveland got a solid start from rookie right hander Zach Plesac, who pitched 5 full innings, giving up 2 earned runs on 6 hits, but the bullpen was a different story for the tribe. Washington pounced on the tribe bullpen, driving in 6 runs in the final four innings, cruising to an 8-2 victory.

Gerardo Parra was the star of the night for the Nats, going 3 for 3 with 4 RBI's while batting in the 8-hole. The Washington Nationals blew the game wide open in the sixth inning after Parra, Cabrera, and Turner accounted for a six-run inning. 27 year old right hander Austin Voth (2-1) earned the win in Friday night's matchup throwing 6 innings giving up 2 earned runs on only 2 total hits.

The Cleveland Indians are all but out of the American League playoff race as they move to 2 1/2 games back of the Tampa Rays Rays with two games left in the regular season. Adam Plutko will make his final start of the season for the Indians, as he will square off against Patrick Corbin of the Washington Nationals. First pitch is set for 4:05 pm ET on Saturday afternoon at Nationals Park in Washington, D.C.
