Golden Retriever Delivers Groceries To Quarantined Neighbor

For the past two weeks, Renee Hellman has been self-quarantined in her Manitou Springs, Colorado, home due to the coronavirus pandemic. Hellman has health issues and relies on oxygen to breathe, which makes her more susceptible to COVID-19.

Hellman hasn't been without visitors, though. Her neighbor's dog, a golden retriever named Sundance, or Sunny for short, has been coming by to check on her and pick up her shopping list.

Sunny brings it home to Karen Eveleth, who goes to the store to buy Hellman what she needs. Since Hellman cannot have visitors, Sunny grabs the groceries one bag at a time and walks them over to Hellman's house.

"She got the list, she gave it to Sunny, Sunny brought it to me," Eveleth told KKTV. "I went to the store, got her her groceries, and he delivered them all to her."

Hellman told the news station she looks forward to Sunny's daily visits.

"What a wonderful thing, just a sweet thing," Hellman said. "Little things like Sunny coming over to visit is nice, and it makes you feel good. It's a way of communicating."
