A Mass Shooting Plays Out Sunday Afternoon At A California Church

For the second straight day in the U.S., multiple people have been shot in a mass shooting. This incident unfolded Sunday in California about 2pm local time, 5pm EST, at the Geneva Presbyterian Church in Laguna Woods.

The 'L.A. Times' reports one person was fatally wounded while four others are in critical condition. Firefighters and paramedics responded to the scene in large numbers after the call came in.

A person has been detained following the shooting and a weapon, believed to be the one used in the act, has been recovered. Investigators have yet to describe the person detained as the suspect.

This latest incident comes on the heels of a mass shooting in Buffalo, New York Saturday afternoon where an 18-year old man, dressed in military type gear, is accused of fatally shooting ten people at a popular supermarket.
