Some kids are rule followers, but others have a more “there’s only one way to find out” approach to life. And those are the kids you have to keep a close eye on, since you never know what they’ll try. The parents of a five-year-old boy recently discovered this after waking up to find their son had gone on an online shopping spree while they snoozed.
A now-viral TikTok video posted by the mom shows the dad grilling the pint-sized big spender, who was sitting on the couch between his siblings. The frustrated father tells his son that he spent more than $3,000 on Amazon today, as he purchased 31 items, including seven ride-on cars. And he warns the kid, “You are in so much trouble.”
The clip features a screenshot of the toys the boy bought himself, accompanied by overlay text that reads: “Living life – happily scrolling and checking out while the rest of the house is sleeping.” Mom’s video also shares that her son had another $700 of items in the cart ready to buy before they caught him, and she adds, “I’m currently on the phone crying to Amazon - my husband is on the phone crying with our bank.”
People in the comments section were pretty sympathetic to the situation:
- “God forbid he have a little retail therapy,” one shares.
- “He took Christmas in July to a whole new level,” another comments.
- “I’m just jealous you had enough in your account for all that,” a third posts. “My card would’ve been declined so quickly.”
