Bills Mafia Saves Man’s Life In Stadium During Game

During the Buffalo Bills’ home game against the Miami Dolphins last Thursday, 68-year-old Brian Dodge of Clifton Springs collapsed in the stands. His daughter, Candice, held onto him as fans quickly recognized the emergency and began shouting for help. Fortunately, nurse Danielle Johnson was also attending the game, happened to be nearby, and immediately stepped in to perform chest compressions when she realized he didn’t have a pulse.

Johnson identified herself as a nurse before realizing Brian was unresponsive and starting CPR in the bleachers. Doctors later determined that he suffered from a condition affecting his heart’s sinoatrial node, which generates electrical impulses that trigger the heart to pump. He was transported to Rochester General Hospital, where he’s recovering and scheduled to undergo surgery to receive a pacemaker.

Candice expressed deep gratitude to Johnson and fellow Bills fans for saving her father’s life. “Because of the Bills Mafia, my dad is alive,” she says. Once Brian recovers, the family plans to meet Johnson to thank her in person.
