Don't steal my cigarettes or anything else.

In Stockton California a thief entered a store, grabbed a trash can and begun cleaning out the 7 Elleven, taking cigarettes and any other item he could sell.

The miscreant mumbles for people to stay out of it and allow him to do his work, because "you can't stop me." As he began to exit, with the goods the owner tackles him and opens a can of "Whoop Ass" .

His assistant showed long up with a long dowl rod and whooped on the miscreants' legs. The beating went on for a least a couple of minutes. The store owners subdued the man who had robbed the store on two previous occasions. On one level, I sympathize with the drug crazed thief who has devolved to the level of brazen thief. However finally someone shows up and says enough.

The Modesto Bee newspaper editorialized that there is no room for vigilante justice in a civilized society. We are way past a civilized society. The police are to few, thank God cool heads prevailed and the store owner is not being charged.

America is getting fed up with the soft touch approach. You hear it almost daily, workers who are fired or disciplined for trying to stop robberies. That mentality has led to locking up freezers of Ice Cream in grocery stores, if you imagine asking the clerk to unlock the freezer for a gallon of ice cream.

Recently I played golf with a guy a friend who regularly goes into Philadelphia and his description crap hole. Stupid prosecutors have to go, New York Philadelphia and Los Angeles have three of the worst.

Finally, a store owner in Stockton California says no more. You are not going to rob me of my merchandise and expect me too standby passively. Walmart does not put up with it but some large chains do. but you are going to see more merchants defend their turf. After all insurance companies are not going to put up with it much longer.

The answer is simple, prosecute and incarcerate. This is one American that's tired of the company line, "we can't incarcerate our way out of crime." Until the out-of-control spending stops I am going to assume Uncle Sugar has loads of money for everything except borders and jails. Build em, we will fill em.
