The Dan Rivers Tuesday Podcast is up. The show began with a few expected snow showers which turned into an hour of winter memories. The tales grow taller with the passing of time. One woman told me the snow was so high on her street during the blizzard to 78 that her neighborhood had to shovel a path to Sparkle Market and when her husband got there they put him to work because the regular butcher was snowed in. Once in a while I need an easy-going hour and jus allow people to reminisce.
Leo Joined me in the second hour and we talked about boomerang kids and how it's causing parents to change their retirement plans. Nice to have the kids visit, but don't stay too long. My brother moved back home after a short stint with his friends, but my mom stuck to her guns she had already turned his room into a den. She did allow him to bed down in the garage.
On my day off, I listened to a podcast on presidents and related the history of Grover Cleveland. New York governor Grover Cleveland defeated James G. Blaine. Four years later Cleveland lost to Benjamin Harrison -- whom he then defeated the next time around. Will history repeat.
Tuesdays are the days we talk with Mike Tomzak. Mike is an assistant YSU coach and Superbowl winner with the Bears. He related his final words to Lions coach Patricia and Tomzak was being cut.
We heard from Jerod Calhoun and his come from behind victory over Wright State. So many stars on the YSU team but I love to watch Brett Thompson. He is an exciting guard who has a penchant to drive to hole, working his way around giants and spinning the ball off the boards and in. You can't miss Brett he had bushy hair and a headband. He is often the spark that sends the Penguins on a big run. Last Friday there were 18 unanswered points to beat Wright State. On to Oakland tomorrow night. Talk to you tomorrow at 9.
