Boardman Twin Peaks review

My visit to the new Twin Peaks in Boardman was an adventure from the start. Despite the hour-long wait for a seat at the bar, the bustling atmosphere made it clear that this place was popular. Among the crowd, I bumped into familiar faces like recently retired Tim Reese, who seems too young for retirement, and my golf buddy Mark Shaw with his lady Ray. Doing my usual research, I noted down encounters like these for potential use in my opening monologue. Of course, a huge shoutout to designated driver Cheryl for keeping us safe.

As for the drinks, the Voo Doo Ranger was decent, but I couldn't help but think the Voo Doo Ranger Imperial would've been a better choice. Unfortunately, they were lacking in that department. Nevertheless, the company was great, especially catching up with my buddy Dave after his fishing trip to Longbow Keys. Hearing about his trout catch cooked on the grill with seasoning and Romano cheese made my mouth water. It's always interesting chatting with Dave, especially about our shared love for country music and our upcoming plans to see Creed Fisher and Eric Church in concert.

We also shared some gripes about the state of country music, feeling it's become too formulaic and pop-oriented. However, we're optimistic about the resurgence of outlaw elements in mainstream music. Amidst these discussions, we reminded ourselves to count our blessings, appreciating the entertainment offerings of our Northwest Ohio upbringing and not letting the negative news overwhelm us.

Regarding Twin Peaks itself, it was worth the nosiness. The limited menu offered tasty options like the Million Dollar Burger, although it's not a spot for those watching their weight. With flat-screen TVs everywhere, it's clear that Twin Peaks will be a go-to spot for watching sports, particularly the NFL.

Lastly, I couldn't help but notice the predominantly male crowd, which could present an opportunity for single ladies looking to meet some country boys. But hands off Dave and me — we're happily married, just not to each other!
