Surgeons at a London hospital have announced that they’ve successfully separated conjoined twin sisters.
Two-year-old Marwa and Safa Ullah were born in Pakistan with their skulls and blood vessels joined together, and the girls went through multiple surgeries that took more than 50 hours to separate them.
Doctors at Great Ormond Street Hospital used the latest technology during the operations, including virtual reality to create exact replicas of the girls’ skulls.
Their mother, Zainab Bibi, says, “We are extremely excited about the future.”
